We've all seen the ads on TV and the internet - pet pharmacies promoting convenience of home shopping with the benefit of big savings. We must ask ourselves, ”Is this a wise option for me and my pet?”
Any online pharmacy can have questionable ethics and business practices. Some top online pharmacies have been fined in several states for unethical and illegal business practices. These pharmacies open the door for many fraudulent products and forgery of prescriptions.

All prescription medications purchased from our clinic have been inspected and approved by the FDA, purchased from proper distributors, are dosed property and accurately, and are manufactured and packaged according to the US government regulations. Unfortunately, the same may not be true for online pharmacies. When you purchase a product from an online pharmacy, you do not know the source of that medication.
The Berwick Animal Clinic has partnered with Vets First Choice Internet Pharmacy for this very reason. Now any product or medication you order through our online pharmacy is from the same distributors that we purchase them from, they have the same warranties and guarantees, and they are held to the same FDA and government standards that we follow. The prices are competitive with any other online pharmacy and all rebates will still be offered to the consumer. We believe this is the safest option for your pet and offers the most convenience to you as the consumer.
The following is the Berwick Animal Clinic's Policy regarding online pharmacies:
1. In order for our veterinarians to approve a prescription, the law requires that we have seen your pet for a comprehensive physical exam within a year of the requested prescription date.
2. No prescription will be approved over the phone unless contact is made with a licensed pharmacy that has a licensed pharmacist on staff. Most internet pharmacies do not have a licensed pharmacist available or on staff to discuss any prescriptions.
3. We will approve prescription requests from our internet pharmacy since all medications are coming from licensed distributors and manufacturers that will honor any of the product’s guarantees.
4. If a prescription is insisted for product(s) from an online pharmacy other than our own, a veterinarian must approve this script. Then, a written prescription can be picked up from our clinic, or we will be happy to mail it to you. This aids in avoiding fraudulent practices and any forgery of future prescriptions. This will also ensure that we are following procedures required by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
At the Berwick Animal Clinic, your pet’s health and safety is our top priority. We believe that our online pharmacy policy is essential in ensuring this. Please feel free to contact any of our team members to further answer any questions or concerns.

Laboratory services are a vital part of the diagnostic process when it comes to veterinarian care. This is because in many cases it is not possible to be able to give a firm diagnosis without undertaking additional tests to confirm the root of the problem. If you have any questions or concerns your vet will be happy to speak to you.x
This is the most effective way to assist in having your companion returned if they go missing. The microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) is placed under the skin between the shoulder blades. When scanned, it provides information that assists in reuniting you with your furry friend!x
