Online Pharmacy
The Berwick Animal Clinic has partnered with Vets First Choice Internet Pharmacy for online ordering. The reasons we have done so are in our Staff Chat titled “Online Pharmacies”. The following is the Berwick Animal Clinic's Policy regarding online pharmacies:
1. For our veterinarians to approve a prescription, the law requires that we have seen your pet for a comprehensive physical exam within a year of the requested prescription date.
2. No prescription will be called in unless contact is made with a licensed pharmacy that has a licensed pharmacist on staff. Most internet pharmacies do not have a licensed pharmacist available, or on staff, to discuss prescriptions.
3. We will approve prescription requests from our internet pharmacy (Vets First Choice) since all medications are coming from licensed distributors and manufacturers that will honor any of the product’s guarantees.
4. If a prescription is insisted upon for product(s) from an online pharmacy other than our own, a veterinarian must approve this script. Then, a *written prescription* can be picked up from our clinic, or we will be happy to mail it to you. This aids in avoiding fraudulent practices and any forgery of future prescriptions. This will also ensure that we are following procedures required by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
5. We can also mail products to you that have been purchased from Berwick Animal Clinic. Regular postal rates will be charged.
